Scratch is an application that children in KS1 and KS2 can use to create their own interactive games, short stories, music and art. Children can work individually or in pairs to create interactive activities and pieces of work using computer codes.
This opens up a whole new realm for children as they not only get the chance to work on their imaginative skills by designing a game, story or piece of music but they also get to work on skills that haven't previously been acknowledged in the classroom such as their technical computer programming skills.
Allowing children to program computers and design their own games and applications is the future of the teaching ICT in the primary classroom.
